Street tournaments 2011

Posted by: Thorsteinn on Apr 27 under Street tournament, soccer

DBU Street tournamentAgain this summer really great street soccer tournaments are held in Denmark, where players can win honor, titles and prices!

One of them is DBU Street Challenge. As DBU says,”street soccer is the game for skilled players that love the play with the ball. Street soccer is speed, tricks and intensity.” We agree.

DBU Street Challenge 2011 is the Danish Football Federations first official Danish championship in Street soccer, where 13-18 year old boys and girls can participate.

It´s 4vs4 game with max 7 players in a team.

Sounds like a good challenge!

Their version of the game + apps is placed on their site; www.brondby.com/kids and www.brondby.com/klubbeniklubben. It has been customized with 2 of their best players; Michael Krohn-Dehli and Jens Stryger Larsen. Michael is national team player and Jens is U21 player. Both have a creative and offensive playing style that we at soccertrix admire.

Against the Ronaldo feint this dog never had a chance!

Posted by: Thorsteinn on Mar 3 under video

Ronaldo feint against a dogWhat do you do when recording the Ronaldo Feint to get the 6 points, but there is nobody around to play the defender? One of our best players, Shoam Toval got creative and placed his dog in the position of the defender.  Since the Ronaldo Feint is a deadly effective dribble, the dog never had a chance. But never the less showed great sportsmanship to at least trying.

The video clip was voted accepted and Shoam got the 6 points. Se it here: http://www.soccertrix.com/en/shoam_toval/video/CRonaldo/1

Good stuff, Shoam!

High five from the Freestyle Football Federation

Freestyle Football Federation logoIt´s always a fantastic feeling when others praise Soccertrix.com.  And when it comes from such an authority within the freestyle community such as the Freestyle Football Federation it humbles me. The article is featured in their January newsletter and on their webpage and encourages their users to participate in the Soccertrix game.

F3 is the World Governing Body for Freestyle Football. It was created in 2009 to provide structure and support for this rapidly growing entertainment sport. The World’s finest athletes in the sport today were all crucially part of the establishment giving insight, ideas and continued support to ensure credibility at all stages.
b
F3 values:
  • Freestyle Football as a way of life (not only is it just some fun juggling a football between friends, but it is also now a credible career for some athletes)
  • Freestyle Football as a tool for social development (The tricks and flicks have been proven in many circles to bring individuals and communities together)
  • Freestyle Football as the foundation of football development (without the aid of a coach, individuals can develop their touch, balance, rhythm, coordination, body awareness and confidence)

Definitely great values we can support. :-)

German young guns

Posted by: Thorsteinn on Jun 28 under Uncategorized

The Soccertrix staff has been watching most of the World Cup matches and is very impressed by the technical skills of many of the young players. The German coach has shown confidence in a young midfield that has been in our eyes the key in their success. Two players stand out as the best; Thomas Mueller and Mesut Oezil who have shown great skills and drive. We look much forward following these players career.

Top 5 World Cup moments reenacted

Posted by: Thorsteinn on May 31 under football, soccer, video

We have created a tribute to some of the most memorable tricks in the history of World Cup. You might recognize some of the street soccer players that help us reenact the tricks. One of them is Brian Mengel who became no. 9 at the last World Cup in street skills. The other two are Michael Toft and Peter Rønning who also are amazing players and can be recognized as our two virtual instructors.

If you can spot which trick we have reenacted in the video clip write it here in the comment field. Best of luck! :)
